Detailed Plan of the 4-day Ouarzazate desert tour

   

Day 1: Ouarzazate airport – Taleouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorges

We will welcome you at the airport of Ouarzazate from Where our 5-day desert tour will be started. Then, we will take you on a guided tour of the village to visit the filming studios and discover the beautiful architecture made only with clay and rocks. Ouarzazate has more than one name such as the Hollywood of Africa, The open gate of Desert, and Maghreb Studio. Tens of international movies were filmed here including the famous Gladiator, Game Of Thron, and Lawrence of Arabia. You will be lucky to discover such a tremendous ancient village as Ouarzazate. Later, not far from the village, we will go to visit the well-known Kasbah of Taleouet. The Kasbah is known as the Galoui Kasbah, an ancient and fortified Kasbah in the region. 

Still discovering the beautiful Kasbahs in the region of Ouarzazate, we will head to the most famous Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah’. We will let ourselves dive into the beauty of the Kasbah and enjoy its old architecture which is looking like a Klay Castle, also, we will have our lunch at one of the local restaurants. We continue driving to Dades Gorges where we will spend the night.   

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todgha Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, a departure from Dades Valley toward the Todra Gorges where many rock climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Later we continue our journey, following the ancient Bedouin trading routes parallel with the Middle Atlas, passing a series of fortified villages with outstanding pre-Saharian architecture. The route to Erfoud is one of the most pleasant of all the Southern routes. It is known for its rich black fossils and marble.

We head down to the spectacular Merzouga desert where we will have a desert tour full of adventure and fun. Upon arrival, we will take camels and ride to the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi where we will attend the breathtaking sunset and spend the night under the starry sky enjoying the Berber Gnawa music. Some of the locals will share with us some stories about the desert of Merzouga. You can sleep either inside the Berber tent, luxury bivouac, or under the charming sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Middle Atlas road – Midelt – Azrou – Fes

After attending the panoramic sunrise, we will head back riding camels to the village of Merzouga where we will have our breakfast and take our luggage to drive to Fes. The drive will take the road of the Middle Alas so we will pass over the village of Apple called Midelt, stop in the largest forest of Cedar based in Azrou, and then continue to Fes, the intellectual capital of Morocco. You will spend the night and have dinner in one of the Riads in Fes.

Day 4: Fes Walking Tour

After breakfast in your riad, you will start exploring Fes the “the Spiritual City of Morocco”. You will spend the whole morning exploring the Medina, visiting most of the sites of cultural and historical interest – including the famous Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain. After lunch, we will drive outside the Medina to see the Royal Palace gate, walk through the Jewish quarter “the Mellah”, then visit the pottery cooperative. Afternoon, we will drive to one of the fortresses to experience an amazing panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes. Our services will end by transferring you to your riad or the airport. That will mark the end of your desert tour from Ouarzazate to Fes.
