Itinerary 4 of the New Year’s Eve Celebration in Merzouga Desert

DAY 1: 29/December: FEZ SIGHTSEEING:

Our New Year’s tour will start by exploring the city of Fes “the Spiritual City of Morocco”. You will spend the whole morning exploring the Medina, visiting most of the sites of cultural and historical interest – including the famous Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain. After lunch, we will drive outside the Medina to see the Royal Palace gate, walk through the Jewish quarter “the Mellah”, then visit the pottery cooperative. Afternoon, we will drive to one of the fortresses to experience an amazing panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes. Overnight accommodation will be in an authentic riad in the heart of old Medina.

Day: 30/December: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Pick up at where you stay (hotel or Riad) or meet you at the airport. After having our breakfast, we will drive southward to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Ifrane, called ” Little Switzerland Moroccan ” for its resemblance to the country. One of the animals that once lived here was the lion of the Atlas, which has now become the symbol of the city and has been dedicated to a stone statue in the middle of it. Take the opportunity to take some photos. We cross the famous cedar forests We may admire the Great Cedar Gouraud, the largest in the region of ancient cedar, and also feed the hundreds of Gibraltar monkeys that inhabit the area.

Lunch and afternoon we pass the Ziz Valley. Over 20km of palm and palm 10 million make it one of the largest in the world. Day: 31/December: Explore the Desert of Merzouga – Enjoy the New Year’s Eve Night

That day is the waited big day of the last night of the year and the night of New Year’s Eve. We will attend the breathtaking sunrise before having our breakfast, then we prepare to celebrate the New Year in the Sahara desert in Merzouga. We will have a journey to the small Berber Gnawa village called Khamlia where we will meet Blak locals from Mali and Soudan. Lunch here. Then, we will ride camels on an adventure crossing the erg Chebbi sand dunes, this is a great opportunity to take awesome pictures of the sunset.

When we arrive at the luxury camp we will leave the camels and we will Celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Desert of Merzouga. We will purchase a ticket to enter the camp and attend the Berber Gnawa music show and the Berber folklore (Ahidous). They will serve us dinner and then the party begins. We will dance and enjoy the vibe as it’s the last day of your life not of the year! At 12:50 midnight, the audience will start counting to the New Year and be ready to shoot the fireworks. The party will be continued until sunrise. You will admire the charming starry sky and the Gnawa music with the Berber traditions; New Year’s Eve in the Merzouga desert is really an extraordinary one. Arrive back in Merzouga and take a deep sleep to refresh before we leave for Marrakech via the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where we can stop to explore this World Heritage site UNESCO. Finally, we continue to Marrakech passing the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka mountain pass, and the New Year tour finishes in Marrakech. Hence the end of your New Year’s Eve vacation in Morocco.
