Detailed itinerary Morocco tour from Casablanca: Imperial cities & the Desert
DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT
10 Days Casablanca Imperial Cities, Our tour commences in the morning with a pickup from your place of stay or the airport. Day 1 of our 10 Days tour, will be about seeing the Grand Casablanca city. Walk over to the corniche and see one that has the great minaret in all of Africa “The Hassan II Mosque” of Casablanca. We’ll drive from the city to spend the first night at Rabat, which stands by Hassan II Tower, the old Medina, and the Mausoleum Mohamed V. This city is to be an imperial Moroccan city with a UNESCO World Heritage Old Medina.
DAY 2: RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FES
Commence the Trip in the morning to leave Rabat for visiting Meknes City. Bab El Mansour, Moulay Idris Zerhoun, and more are historical spots that Meknes is famous for, and which we’ll certainly see after lunch. Proceed the drive to the Roman ruin of “Walili” -Volubilis-, great ruins with stunning scenery that will grape your attention when you are about to explore them. Also, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To spend the night, we’ll proceed to Fes.
DAY 3: EXPLORING FES
Guided Fes city day trip at the old Medina that has plenty of narrow streets and stores. We’ll walk in there while you observe and take photos of the corners, and the simple and small details that made it a UNESCO World Heritage spot. Take your lunch and made your way to see historical constructions such as the University -Al Quaraouine-, the Royal Palace, and the Bou Inania Quranic School. Stay the night at the hotel/Riad.
Day 4: Fes Day trip to Chefchaouen
After breakfast departs from Fes to the charming Chefchaouen. Drive through the breathtaking landscapes of the fertile coastal plains. Continue the road until you arrive in the region of the Rif Mountains which is the heart and location of the quiet blue and whitewashed city of Chefchaouen. Spend the day wandering the blue-washed narrow alleys of the friendly medina.
Visit the walled fortress of the Kasbah contains beautiful gardens. Near it is the small museum and art gallery which houses the rich culture of the Rif Mountains. From the rooftop of the os, the blue and white washed exploring the medina, walk in the nearby hillsides with the magnificent waterfalls. Get back to Fez in the late afternoon and the night in your riad.
DAY 5: FES – AZROU – MIDLET – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA
Commence the trip in the morning to leave Fes for a drive through three of the middle -Atlas- villages, the valley of Ziz, and Merzouga. A stop at the Switzerland -Ifran City-, another at Azrou, particularly at the cedar forests that are famous for the Barbary Apes so as to feed them, and for lunch at Midelt. Pass by the panoramic valley- Ziz- on the way to a place where we are going to stay the night -Merzouga Desert-.
DAY 6: Discover MERZOUGA
Commence the trip in the morning, but today we are not leaving Merzouga. We’ll rather visit the area along with the “Gnaoua” village -Khamlia-. Meet Gnaoua people that are known for their unique type of music where drums are an essential tool they are using. Experience climbing on the top of the camels to ride over Erg Chebbi camp at the high dunes watching the sunset and getting ready to spend a night in a camp.
DAY 7: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY
When the sun is rising at the top of high dunes, it creates a magical scenery worth waking up to earlier to observe it. Take your breakfast and go with the camels to the hotel for a shower and then continue to Todra Gorges. They are spectacular limestone river canyons to discover and appreciate their beauty. Stay the night in the arrival at Valley of Dades.
DAY 8: DADES VALLEY – AIT BEN HADDOU – TIZI N’TICHKA PASS – MARRAKECH
Take your breakfast, and ride over the Dades Gorges before starting to drive to Marrakesh. We’ll be driving through the thousand Kasbah’s route to Ouarzazate, and then continue to see the rose Valley situated at Kelaat M’gouna in which pure cosmetic products such as rosewater are produced from the roses. Lunch will be at Ait Ben Haddou, which is a well-known castle that belonged to the Glaoui Pasha. A discovering visit to the Kasbah followed by a drive toward the pass Tichka and the Atlas Mountains to spend the night in a hotel/riad at Marrakesh.
DAY 9: EXPLORING MARRAKECH
Start exploring the city after taking your breakfast with a guided city walk. At Marrakesh, you’ll see the Gardens -Majorelle-, the Palace of Bahia, and the Mosque -Al Koutoubia-. Moreover, spend the afternoon at a busy and large square of -Jemaa El Fna-, where you’ll be about to watch the snake charmers, and storytellers, along with several food merchants and amusing activities.
DAY 10: DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA
Start driving in the morning to arrive at Essaouira for a day trip. In the city of Essaouira, you’ll take a walk at the seaside where different kinds of fish are presented by the merchants along with a stop for lunch to try the delicious fish. Furthermore, ride over the city and its Medina. Overnight in a traditional or luxury riad.
DAY 11: Essaouira – Safi (Asafi) – Eljadida
After having your breakfast, leave Essaouira and head to Safi. Safi or Asafi is known for its marvelous beaches and panoramic views. You will visit the old Medina, and explore the souks. For the Jewish, Safi is the must-see of the Jewish heritage in Morocco. You will visit the old Jewish quarter, the pottery workshops, and the historic architecture.
Later, we head to El’Jadida and explore the old Portuguese fort. Visit the old town and take a guided tour of the city. Enjoy a delicious dinner and then spend the night relaxing on the beach at one of the luxurious hotels on the beach.
DAY 12: El’jadida – Casablanca
On the final day of our grand tour in Morocco, we will leave after breakfast for Casablanca city. If you have more time in Morocco, we can have a last guided tour of the Medina. Drop you off at the airport will be the end of our services and the end of the 12-day Morocco tour from Casablanca.
