Itinerary of the 5 Days Tour from Agadir

Day 1: Agadir – Marrakech

The tour will start from Agadir, either your hotel or airport, and drive to Marrakech. The drive from Agadir to Marrakech will be around two hours. We will get to Marrakech around noon and meet with our local guide to explore the old city of Marrakech, which is referred to as Medina. In this guided tour we are going to visit the best monuments of the medina, such as the Bahia palace, Sadiaan tombs, the Jewish quarter (Mellah), the souks as well as the famous square of Jemaa El Fna. You will have a free evening to enjoy dinner on your own on one of the rooftops of restaurants in the square for a unique night experience.

Day 2: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Rose Valley – Dades Valley

Today will be the start of a desert excursion trip from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert with a night in the Dades valley. We start our tour at 8:30 am and head towards the High Atlas Mountains, where is the first stop. On the way, we will enjoy the beauty of the high Atlas Mountains range and drive through Tizi N’tichka pass at an altitude of 2260m.

There will be different stops along the way to enjoy the Berber villages and the charm of nature in the mountains. After stopping at one of the cooperatives of Argan Oil, we drove to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a world heritage site by UNESCO. In this Kasbah, we need about 45min to explore its alleys and history and back to the village to have lunch before driving to Rose Valley and Dades Valley where we stay the night.

Day 3: Dades valley – Todra gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

The destination of today is the Merzouga dunes, but before that, you will enjoy several attractions that will be amazing. One of the main highlights of the day will be the Todra Valley and gorges that are away from Dades by an hour’s drive. There will be a 15 to 20-minute walk in the Todra Canyon under the red cliffs. From Todra Gorge we needed to drive to the next town (Tinjdad) for an hour and a half where we were going to have our lunch before departing for the Merzouga desert.

The tour after lunch will take us to the town of Erfoud in the afternoon. Erfoud or Arfoud is very popular for its international festival of dates every year and the fossil museums. After Erfoud, we head to the Merzouga dunes where we change our car by the camels to take you on an hour’s adventure through the golden dunes. In the middle of the dunes will be the top of the sunset and pictures break. When you finish with the sunset break, you will continue to the luxury camp where you will be welcomed with mint tea, then enjoy dinner followed by Berber drum music under the stars.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Nakoub – Ouarzazate

Today in the early morning, we need to get up to see a spectacular sunrise rising behind the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Afterward, you can have your lunch and take a shower to choose whether to ride camels back to the town or transfer you by jeep. When you get to the village, we will continue our journey to Ouarzazate city. Before Ouarzazate, we make several stops, like Rissani to visit the traditional market (Souk). The first market in the desert area is named (Souk Tafilalet).

The trip will continue along the acacia trees road until we get to the village of Nakoub, where we lunch and carry on to the next town of Agdz. In Agdz we can see the huge Draa oasis of date palms before arriving at Ouarzazate to stay the night.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Taliouine – Taroudant – Agadir

On the 5th day of our 5-day tour from Agadir, we drive from Ouarzazate city to Taznakht town, very popular for Berber traditional Kelims and carpets. If you are interested, we can make a visit to one of the cooperatives to learn about this art and the stories behind it. Later, we continue driving to Taliouine (the best place in Morocco where they grow Saffran). We have lunch in the Taliouin village and rest a little.
